General Society Artisan Series: Starts Tuesday January 25



The Art of Craftsmanship: Reflections on the past, present and future of the artisan.

The General Society Artisan Lecture Series will pay tribute to the art of craftsmanship by featuring internationally known artisans who will talk about the intricacies of their specialized crafts. The aim of the Artisan Series is to promote the work and art of skilled craftsmen and to assist in ensuring their unique knowledge is understood and carried forth for generations to come.

The Artisan Series will be held at the General Society Library at 20 West 44th Street New York City.  This is a rare opportunity to meet and hear these internationally known artisans  
talk about their craft. 




             Lectures begin at 6:00 p.m.

Curated by General Society member, Jean Wiart, renown for his many contributions to ornamental metalwork, the series features:

Tuesday, February 22: Charles Flickinger, Master Bent Glass Artisan

Tuesday, March 15th – Bruno Lopez, Master Upholsterer

Tuesday, April 12th – Sandrine Viollet, Straw Marquetry Master Artisan
